Orion OCIO provides outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO) services for financial advisors and wealth managers.

Usage: How We Use Orion OCIO

As an RIA firm, Balefire partners with TownSquare Capital to serve as our Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO). This means that rather than maintaining an internal investment management team, we leverage TownSquare’s expertise, resources, and institutional-level investment strategies to support our advisors and clients.

TownSquare provides:

  • Portfolio construction & asset allocation strategies
  • Investment research & due diligence
  • Trade execution & tactical rebalancing
  • Risk management & oversight

By outsourcing CIO responsibilities to TownSquare, our advisors can focus on client relationships, financial planning, and holistic wealth management, while TownSquare handles the investment management and trading execution within Orion.

How Orion & TownSquare Support Balefire

Balefire utilizes Orion as our centralized portfolio management platform, integrating directly with TownSquare to provide:

  • Portfolio tracking & performance reporting
  • Trade submission & execution via TownSquare
  • Sleeved account management until full data sync
  • Proposal generation & model allocations
  • Billing & account analytics

Orion is our firm’s asset management hub, while TownSquare acts as the OCIO, managing investments and executing trades based on advisor instructions.

How to Access TownSquare & Orion

  1. TownSquare Capital Website & Orion Database Login
    • Login Details:
      • Username: FirstName.LastName.
      • Password: Sent via email from Orion
      • Digital Signature PIN: If you are an advisor or licensed, you should have received a 4-digit PIN for signing trade instructions digitally.
      • If anyone has issues with their passwords, please reach out to Brittney Karstens at Brittney.karstens@orion.com.
    • Submitting Trades:
      • Upon logging in, you’ll see the landing page.
      • Click on the Purple “Sub-Trade Form” to input trade instructions.
      • Detailed submission instructions are available in a PDF guide.
