Biography

David Serposs is a Senior Corporate Solutions Advisor at Balefire, helping employers design and steward retirement plans and executive benefit strategies that support both organizational priorities and the people behind them. With over 16 years of financial services experience, he works with organizations ranging from companies establishing their first 401(k) plan to employers managing complex retirement programs with hundreds of millions of dollars in assets.

David advises clients across 401(k) and 403(b) plans, Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation, ESOPs, Cash Balance Plans, Executive Bonus arrangements, and Operating Capital strategies. His work includes fiduciary education for plan sponsors, plan design, investment lineup research and review, and ongoing coordination with recordkeepers and other vendors.

Over the course of his career, David has advised individuals, businesses, and institutions across a wide range of financial needs, reinforcing his belief that each situation requires its own thoughtful solution. His experience includes helping individuals prepare for retirement, analyzing and optimizing employer-sponsored retirement plans, and working directly with large institutional clients incorporating public and private investments into their portfolios.

David has served organizations across manufacturing, technology, banking, automotive sales, real estate development, marketing and advertising, and food and beverage distribution. Regardless of industry or plan size, helping people and institutions make informed financial decisions has remained central to his work.

Clients and colleagues rely on David for his curiosity and persistence. When an answer is not immediately apparent, he keeps researching, asking questions, and bringing the right resources into the conversation until there is a sound direction forward. His mindset is particularly valuable in the changing ERISA environment, where legislation such as SECURE 2.0 has introduced new requirements and questions for retirement plan sponsors.

At Balefire, David brings his experience to a Corporate Solutions model centered on retirement plan stewardship, participant education, fiduciary guidance, and hands-on employer support. He helps leadership teams understand their responsibilities while considering how plan design and executive benefits can better serve their organizations. His goal is to give clients a knowledgeable, persistent partner who can help them work through complexity and make thoughtful decisions for their businesses and employees.
